12/16/2023 0 Comments Lynde cheerful tormentor decklistMy friend and I also decided to make a commander league that had to have decks at or under $25, which got me really interested in brewing budget decks. Those decks might indeed be cheaper than their more competitive counterparts, but they are in no way budget. It comes down to the fact that I was tired of seeing people posting their "budget" decks on other subs or on other forums only to find out they were actually $100, $200, or even $300+. However they likely will be easy to upgrade if you do wish to spend a little extra money. Decks here probably won't be anything close to top tier, as they are only $50 or $25. Since you may not have a lot of creatures to attack with, it'll be harder for you to trigger those and may feed your opponents more than you benefit from them.The goal of this sub is to provide players with actually budget edh decks that they can use for casual games. I would also consider any of the curses that only benefit the person attacking them, such as ], as possible swap outs. Plus if you are facing a graveyard focused deck, you could have the issue of feeding them since there aren't any methods of exiling their GY's. And if you can combine it with any wheel effect.well, you will quickly start killing the table.Īs for things to swap out of the decklist, I would consider removing the curses that deal with mill as it doesn't feel like the deck is focused enough on that to be a viable method of winning. One of the most successful curses in the deck has been ]. I also took out the curses that would have me winning through mill and instead tried to lean more into hurting my opponents for any extra draw they may have going on. With how expensive curses are, this is a great way to quickly pump them outįrom my deck list, you can see that instead of trying to go through the political route of controlling combat, I went with more of an approach of generating tokens to try and dissuade people from attacking me. ] - reduce all of your enchantments (or if you imprint an enchantment creature spell) by 2 mana. ] - this is phenomenal and can allow you to either double up on your curse triggers or any other upkeep trigger thing you have. ] - can either get you one of your sac outlets or mana ramp if needed ] - a little more expensive, but amazing sac outlet for your curses as well as additional draw Or more importantly, once per turn, you can freely destroy one of your curses ] - if someone ends up taking control of a permanent you own, you can destroy it to deny them. ] - being a zero drop and allowing you to repeatedly sac your curses is huge A couple of cards I have had amazing success with: Below is the one I've been building and tweaking with since her release. That looks like a great start for a Lynde deck. Here's my take on it! It's not the greatest and is constantly being tweaked, but derives from that video so it may help to answer what I do differently. I wouldn't recommend it for competitive or similar tournament play, and especially not in 1v1s. Because of this, Lynde works best in a friendly, casual pod. Curses only work if they're triggered, so you need to work with your fellow players to get them off. It's been the bit that gets me the win several times. Oh, and your curses can be copied, that's nothing to scoff at. Whether that’s an aggressive go-wide beatdown plan, a lock, or a game-ending combo, you need a win condition, as well as a back-up plan in case your main strategy is disrupted.īecause of the wide range of curses and their various effects, you actually have a fair few wincons to work with here, plus the combat control and removal to keep them out and yourself alive to get the most out of them. Mid decks must have a way to close out a game. Mid is an excellent place to play powerful, interactive decks, but without the consistency and speed of higher power levels. Your deck is expected to make use of the tools available in your Commander’s colors. In Mid, you should anticipate that your threats will be answered, and be expected to answer threats in kind, leveraging your deck’s capabilities towards a win. Expect Stax, Combo, Midrange, Control, Aggro, Reanimator, Enchantress (That's us!), and just about everything else you can imagine. The video creator describes it as MID, which translates to a deck that:įeatures highly synergistic strategies, dedicated wincons, efficient removal and draw, and an emphasis on playing to win against a broad range of decks.
